Observation manners
In order to help the crested ibis settle in the Noto region following release, we need to create a community where they can be watched over gently

Observe the birds quietly and from afar so as to not startle them.
Do not get out of your car, but watch from a distance with binoculars or other equipment. Avoid loud noises and lights.
Stay away from nests during the breeding season
The breeding season for the crested ibis is from February to July. If they are approached by humans, they may stop building nests and raising their young. Make sure to avoid observing or photographing them during this period.
Do not feed the ibis
Do not cause a community nuisance
Crested ibis feed around rice paddies and grasslands, and build nests in trees. Do not enter private property or farm roads without permission in order to observe them, and avoid obstructing traffic by parking on farm or forest roads.
If you are engaged in agricultural work or living in the community, do not be overly concerned if you see crested ibises nearby and try to spend your time as normal in order to live in harmony with them.
