About the Crested Ibis
What kind of bird is the crested ibis? Let's have a look at its ecology and history.

Release efforts
We are working on the development of an environment in which the crested ibis can coexist with humans and thrive. The release of the ibis scheduled for as early as 2026.

Decentralized Breeding and Public Exhibitions at Ishikawa Zoo
Ishikawa is the last habitat of the crested ibis in Honshu. Due to this close connection, it is the first prefecture in Japan to conduct dispersed breeding and public displays.

Observation manners
The ibis are timid and will fly away in surprise when people approach them, making it difficult for them to get enough food.
