Ushitora Yagura remains

The name comes from its location-"ushitora," or northeast, from Hon-maru, the central enclosure.
The turret was a watchtower at Higashi-no-maru to guard Hon-maru, but it was destroyed by a large fire in 1759.
It is now an observatory with a nice view over Kenrokuen, Mt. Tomuro, and Mt. Ioh.
